Before Booking: Is Hiring a Recovery Diver Worth It?
Some items (like electronics that aren't designed for water exposure) aren’t worth the cost of searching unless they contain irreplaceable content — such as photos, research, sentimental recording, or unique data.
 
Recovery services are typically requested when the lost item has high:

✔️ Sentimental value
✔️ Personal or professional importance
 
If replacing the item is cheaper and effortless — replacement is usually the better option.
 
Pricing
All pricing includes safety preparation, planning, gas fills, gear, and the specialized dive time required for the search.
 
Shore-Based Recovery
$125 per hour (4-hour minimum)
Travel time included in billable hours
 
Boat-Based Recovery
$125 per hour (4-hour minimum)
Travel time included in billable hours
Boat charter fee (if needed) is additional unless you are providing a vessel and captain
Rates vary based on depth, current, visibility, hazards, and equipment required.
Even if the item is located in the first 5 minutes, the minimum still applies due to prep, travel, equipment, and diving logistics.
 
How Much Time Will It Take?
Every recovery is different.
Conditions that affect the search include:
Depth & water visibility
Currents, tides, wind, and weather
Accuracy of the last known location
Time elapsed since loss
Bottom composition (reef, sand, mud, grass, silt)
If the item isn’t found in the scheduled time block, you’ll have the option to extend the search at the same hourly rate.
 
Success Rate
While no diver can guarantee recovery, the following dramatically increase the odds:
⭐ The sooner the search begins
⭐ A precise description of the item
⭐ A clear last-known location
⭐ Photos or brand/model reference
Items lost within 24 hours with accurate coordinates have the highest probability of successful recovery.
 
What You Need Before Booking
Please be prepared with:
Approximate GPS location or detailed loss site information
Item description (size, weight, material, brand, color, and photos if available)
Payment ready before the dive begins — no exceptions (“No payment, no descent.”)
